Leading University (LU) with the entire Bangladesh chalked out elaborate programs on the occasion of the 46th Victory Day with due solemnity and paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971. A colorful ‘Victory Day Rally’ brought in the city at 9: 00 am, and held a discussion at11:00 at Leading University Hall Room. Honorable Chairman (Acting), Board of Trustees Syed Abdul Hannan and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Qumruzzaman Chowdhury of Leading University leaded the Rally that decorated with flags, festoons, play cards, badges in a festive mood crossed the major roads of the city, and along with the all Departments of the university placed flower wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar of Sylhet.All Faculty Members, Officers and Students paid deep homage to the valiant freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice in the Liberation War for the cause of country’s independence.
In the discussion Syed Abud lHannan, Chairman (Acting), Board of Trustees, LU was present as the Chief Guest and the program was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Qumruzzaman Chowdhury, LU. Dean, Faculty of Business Administration Professor Md. Nazrul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Modern Science, Professor Dr. Khandoker Md. Mominul Haque and Registrar (Acting), LU Professor Dr. S. M. Ali Akkas was the Special Guests in the Discussion. The Main Discussant was Muktijudda Principal Alhaz M. A. Quadir. He shared his practical experience of the heinous acts of genocide in human history, the Pakistan army and their local collaborators had launched in 1971 in the erstwhile East Pakistan, killing innocent and unarmed people.
