How many semesters are offered yearly at LU and when do they start?

LU Offers 3 semesters a year: Spring, Summer & Fall, and these starts in January, May & September respectively for BBA, ENG, LL.B, Islamic Studies, CSE, EEE. For Architecture, Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management and Bangla. LU Offers Admission for these department twice a year. You can apply in either Spring or Summer semester. The classes start from January and July accordingly.

How can I collect Admission form and what kind of documents I have to submit along with form?

Applicants are required to look in the LU website to have precise information about Admission procedures or one can come directly to campus to get details beside applicants are need to procure Application Form from the Admission Office on payment of Tk. 500 and submit filled up Form along with 5 copies of Passport Size Photographs and attested photocopies (2 set) of all Certificates, Transcript, Testimonials and Birth Certificate/NID. Guardian’s 1 copy photo & NID card photo copy are also required.


What are the Admission requirements to apply for Undergraduate Level?

Minimum score of GPA 2.50 both in SSC and HSC or GPA 6.00 for both examinations in aggregate but not less than 2.00 in any of SSC & HSC

For the children of Freedom Fighters aggregated CGPA of SSC & HSC or equivalent examinations is 5.00

For ‘O’ and ‘A’ level students:

5 subjects in ‘O’ level and 2 subjects in ‘A’ level where grade ‘B’ in at least 4 subjects and grade ‘C’ in the remaining subjects.


What are the minimum requirements to apply for Engineering Program?

Candidate must have minimum GPA 2.50 both in Mathematics and Physics at HSC level


What is the medium of instruction for all Programs in Leading University?

Medium of instruction of all Programs is English except Islamic Studies and Bangla. Islamic Studies and Bangla are taught in Bengali medium.


What are the requirements to apply for Masters Level?

For all the Masters programs such as MBA, Executive MBA, M.A. in English, L.L.M and M.A. in Islamic Studies following Admission requirements must be fulfilled:

i) With the above mentioned qualifications for admission into the Undergraduate Programs, GPA 2.0 must be obtained at any Bachelor’s degree. For the enrollment of EMBA Program additional 2 years of experience is needed in executive position.

ii) For MPH program, admission requirements are MBBS/B.sc. Nursing or equivalent degree or Masters in any discipline of Pure Science, Applied Science or Social Science having considerable experience in Biological/Health Science.


How can I correct my mistakes if I made in the Admission form?

If applicants make any mistake during filling up their Application Form and submit it with that error, they are required to communicate immediately at Admission Office to take necessary measures.


How much is the Admission Application Fee?

Applicants need to pay the non-refundable Application fee of Tk. 500


How can I pay the Admission and Semester Fees?

Students can pay their Admission, Semester and other Fees through-

♦ At University Campus National Bank Booth (2nd floor of Building A) Or

♦ National Bank (Laldighirpar branch)


How many years of work experience do applicants require to apply for the EMBA Program?

Those who have a minimum of 2-years of professional work experience can admit to the EMBA Program with the fulfillment of Admission requirements.


what are the criteria or result require to be eligible for a waiver?

Waiver criteria for Undergraduate Program:

Golden GPA 5.00 both in S.S.C & H.S.C 75%
GPA 5.00 both in S.S.C % H.S.C (having 1 Golden GPA 5.00 in either) 60%
GPA 5.00 both in S.S.C & H.S.C 50%
GPA 4.50 both in S.S.C & H.S.C 30%
GPA 4.00 both in S.S.C & H.S.C 15%
GPA 3.50 both in S.S.C & H.S.C 10%
Female Students 10%
For Admission of the other children of same parents (Provisional) 30%
Special waiver for teachers’ children, tribal & physically disabled 10%

Tuition Fees waiver for MBA/EMBA

Group of 10 students & above 15%
Govt. Official, Defense Personnel etc. 10%

A student may be eligible for waiver in several categories but he/she will get 01 (one) waiver which one is higher.


Does Leading University accept any credits completed in other educational institution?

Transfer of credits from other UGC approved University or aboard to Leading University may be considered subject to the approval of equivalence committee of LU. In this regards, students need to fill up Credit Transfer Form which is available at our website and submit it to the LU Admission Office along with Official Transcript of previous University while Admission.


Is there any provisional Admission in BS.c (Diploma holder)/Masters for those who do not receive the certificate though already completed Undergraduate/Diploma Program?

Many students willing to join the University might not have the certificates who already sat for final year exam but result has not been published yet then they can be admit through sign by a provisional Application. If the student fail to submit required documents within the time period or failed to pass the exam then the LU authority have right to cancel/dismiss his/her Admission


For Undergraduate Programs which documents are required to submit by the candidates who have passed from abroad?

Candidates who have passed from abroad have to submit verified/attested copies of previous academic documents from their Institute/respective Foreign Ministry besides getting the Equivalence Certificate from the Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board, Dhaka, Bangladesh or Ministry of Education.


For Masters Programs which documents are required to submit by the candidates who have passed from abroad?

Candidates who have passed from abroad have to submit verified/attested copies of previous academic documents from their Institute/respective Foreign Ministry.


Is there any Evening Class for Masters Programs?

There is no Evening Class for any Masters Programs. But weekend Program (Friday and Saturday) is available for all Masters Programs as well as Diploma holder of CSE, EEE and Civil Engineering.


How can I change my Department?

To change Department, you need to submit an Application (Dept. Change Form available at our website) to the Registrar’s Office before you have to collect the clearance from current Department and the Department where you intended to go. However, you have to pay required fees in this regards.


Are there any hostel facilities in Leading University?

Hostel facilities are not available yet but University has a plan to provide hostel facilities especially for female students
