A seminar entitled “Legal of System of Bangladesh” was held on 12 June 2015 at Leading University (LU) City Campus, Rangmahal Tower, Sylhet which was arranged by the Department of Law. Professor Dr. Md. Kismatul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor, addressed the program as chief guest and exchanged his views in the inaugural speech to the participants regarding the Legal System of Bangladesh. Md. Rashedul Islam Assistant Professor & Head (Acting) of the Department of Law presided over the seminar. In the First Plenary Md. Makbul Ahsan, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Judge Court, Sunamgong, explained the legal procedures on the topic titled “Criminal Justice System in Bangladesh”. Ms. Fatema Quader, Divisional Special Judge (District Judge), District Judge Court, Sylhet presented the topic titled “Domestic Violence against Women in Bangladesh” where she conveyed the types of Domestic Violence, reasons, law proceeding, prevention of domestic violence and relevant judgment.
In the Second Plenary of the seminar, Saifuzzaman Hero, Metro Joint Session Judge of Metropolitan Session Judge Court, Sylhet spoke on “Civil Justice System in Bangladesh” and Barrister Arif Anwar spoke on the “Legal Research Methodology”. Students of the Dept. of Law of LU asked various questions related to present legal law of Bangladesh and the speakers explained those enthusiastically. Pro-Vice Chancellor of LU Professor Dr. S. M. Saiful Islam’s written message was read out by Md Nurujjaman Mia, and Milisa Laisne, Director of A.L.I. also spoke in the seminar. Teachers and students of Law Dept. were present in the seminar.
