The Department of English arranged the Prize Giving and Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Literary Quiz Competition-2016 on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10 am in the Seminar Room no. 604 of Surma Tower Campus. In the auspicious ceremony, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Leading University Professor Dr. Md. Qumruzzaman Chowdhury was present as the Chief Guest. Among the Guests of Honour were Prof. Md. Nazrul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Khondoker Md. Mominul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Modern Science, Registrar of Leading University Lt Col (Retd) Munir Ahmed Quadery.
At the very outset of the ceremony, the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were warmly received with bouquet of flowers by the students of the Department of English.Honorable Vice Chancellor of Leading University Professor Dr. Md. Qumruzzaman Chowdhury in his speech appreciated such innovative literary quiz competition and expressed his desire to extend all kinds of cooperation in program like this in future. He wholeheartedly thanked the faculty members of the Department of English, the winners and the participators in the competition. All the Guests of Honoour in their speech spoke highly of such endeavours of the Department of English.
The Head of the Department of English Muhammad Nazrul Islam in his speech shared the purpose of organizing such a literary quiz competition for the students. According to him, the purpose of the competition was to create a platform for the students in the competitive job market and to enhance their in-depth knowledge based on the curriculum. Mrs. Manfath Jabin Haque, Senior Lecturer of the Department of English who was also the coordinator of the competition thanked the members of the organizing committee, the senior faculty members of the Department, the volunteers, the winners, the participants.
In the last session of the ceremony, certificates and prizes were handed over among the winners by the Chief Guest ans Guests of Honour. The Prize Giving and Certificate Awarding Ceremony was anchored by two students of the Department of English namely Md. Fikuzzaman and Nahida Hossain Muna.
