Industrial Training at Training Institute for Chemical Industries (TICI)

Final year students of department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Leading University, Sylhet have recently accomplished a month long industrial attachment at Training Institute for Chemical Industries (TICI), Narsingdi on August 4, 2016. TICI is renowned for its rigorous program, experienced instructors and well-equipped labs; students from many universities around the country go there for a real-world experience to strengthen their academic knowledge.

This was the third time that students from EEE department went to TICI for hands-on experience and industrial management. The training at TICI is a requirement of the B.Sc. in EEE degree at Leading University, Sylhet. The training covered the following topics- electrical safety, testing and measurement, transformer, generator, motor, power generation, transmission, distribution, control systems, industrial broiler and steam generation, and industrial safety. Trainees attended both theory and associated laboratory classes along with regular written and oral tests.

All the students showed very satisfactory performance during whole training session. Among 46 students, 21 gained A+ successfully. Nayeem Rahman, Sanwar Hossain and Mamunul Islam secured first, second and third position respectively. TICI authority highly praised our students for their outstanding performance and achievements. Completion of the course at TICI has provided our students with practical skill and knowledge which will be an asset in their future.
