The Department of English organised the Certificate Awarding and Prize Giving Ceremony of British Council Book Reading Competition-2017 on 16.03.2017 at 2 pm in the Hall Room of Surma Tower Campus of Leading University.
A total of 24 students of different departments were awarded with certificates and given away prizes from British Council Bangladesh. Professor Dr. S.M.Ali Akkas, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Registrar (Acting) of Leading University handed over the certificates and prizes among the winners.
In his speech, Dr. Ali Akkas congratulated the winners and appreciated that this kind of competition which will enhance confidence of the students in their academic life.
The program was chaired by the Head of the Department of English Muhammad Nazrul Islam who thanked British Council for arranging the competition and hoped to continue the competition at Leading University in future as well. Among others Md. Rezaul Karim, Director, IQAC and A H M Fazle Rabbi, Co-ordinator of British Council, Sylhet Division spoke on the occasion.
All the faculty members of the Department of English were present in the ceremony. Mahbub Alam, Senior Lecturer of the Department of English, who co-ordinated the British Council Book Reading Competition at Leading University, anchored the program.
